What is the minimum age and driving experience to rent a car in Sri Lanka?
You need to be 21 or older, with a valid driving licence recognised under Sri Lankan law and at least 2 years of driving experience.
Can I rent a car with a foreign licence?
Yes. If you are visiting Sri Lanka for less than 12 months, bring your valid foreign driving licence together with an International Driving Permit (IDP) issued in your home country. If you don’t have an IDP, an official English translation of your licence is accepted.
Can I add additional drivers?
Yes. Every driver must be registered with and approved by Passan Rent A Car before driving the vehicle. An additional-driver charge may apply depending on your rental package; our team will confirm this when you book.
What do I do if the car breaks down or has an accident?
